Staatstheater Stuttgart: Oberer Schlossgarten 3. The national opera house was built in 1909. The Stuttgart Ballet is internationally renowned and has been guest of honor on stages worldwide. Guided tours are provided with a strict timeframe and with plenty of time, we must inform us at the tourist office to see whether we can include us in any of these tours. Staatsgalerie Stuttgart: Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse 30-32. The Museum of Fine Arts houses one of the most important collections in Germany. It has works by international artists from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century, encompassing different artistic expressions such as oils, watercolors, drawings, prints, graphics, posters and photographs. Open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10 to 18h, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 to 20pm, closed Mondays. Check for special exhibitions and traveling, 10 & euro adults, youth 12 to 20 years 2 & euro, under free. Kunstmuseum Stuttgart: Kleiner Schlossplatz 1. This art museum is home to artists of the region, primarily the Impressionists and their contemporaries. The building itself, a glass cube, is prized by residents of Stuttgart. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 18h, Wednesday and Thursday until 21 pm, Mondays closed. Adults 5 & euro entry, under 12 free, 11 & euro household.
Landesmuseum Wurttemberg – Alter Schloss: Schillerplatz 6. At the heart of the city, the “old castle” (Alter Schloss), former residence of the Earls and Dukes of Baden-Wuerttemberg, home to the Württemberg Regional Museum which tells the story of the region, from the Stone Age to the present days. It is an exciting tour for the number and diversity of the objects meeting (Roman, Celtic, medieval, baroque, etc..). Open Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from 10 to 17h, closed on Mondays. Haus der Geschichte: Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse 16. The History House is part of the Stirling Wilford in the “Kulturmeile” or avenue of culture. This museum opened in 1987 and is very modern, though his collection is very old. These are objects that describe the history of the region over the past 200 years. Open daily except Mondays. Ticket prices vary according to different exposures.
Linden-Museum: Hegelplatz 1.Es one of the largest museums in ethnology from all over Germany and its creator was Karl Graf von Liden. It is divided into 5 main sections: America, South Seas, Africa, East and Southeast Asian Islam. The permanent exhibition is devoted to cultures and non-European peoples. Among the most visited attractions is the Tibetan shrine, the recreation of a Japanese teahouse and an Oriental bazaar. Open daily except Mondays.
Naturkundemuseum: Rosenstein 1. Opened in 1791 in Castle Rosenstein, began with the private collection of the Dukes of Wurtemberg. The scenarios are presented in which the collections are very attractive, the exhibition highlights a sei whales (cetacean species) with all its internal organs. Open Tuesday to Friday from 9 to 17h, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10 to 18h, closed on Mondays. Input 4 & euro, free on Wednesdays.
Mercedes-Benz Welt: Mercedesstrasse 100. Literally “the world of Mercedes Benz”, this exciting museum is opposite the DaimlerChrysler factory and opened on the occasion of the Football World Cup in 2006. There are 110 year history of one of the most recognized brands in the world. Nine floors and 16,500 square meters of exhibition for the fans and not so much. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 to 18. Entrance adults 8 & euro.
Wilhelmina: Botanical Gardens and Zoo in a single venue. According to an idea of King William I and designed in 1850 by architect Karl Ludwig von Zanth. Many greenhouses and galleries are the originals. It has a beautiful aquarium, farm and a host of attractions such as shows with animals. Open 365 days a year, from 8 to 16h in winter and to 18h in summer. Adults 12 & euro entry, children 8 & Euro, family group varies if one parent or both.
Weissenhofsiedlung: Rathenaustrasse 1. The “city Wissenhof” is one of the most important works of modern architecture. Built in 1927 by the artist association Deutscher Werkbund. Since 2006 also hosts the Weissenhofmuseum devoted to the history of architecture. One of the most important wing of the complex is dedicated to the great Le Corbusier, the father of modern urban society. Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 to 18h, Sundays 11 to 20h closed on Mondays. Input 4 & euro, children under 10 free.
Weinbaumuseum: Uhlbacher Platz 4. Museum of winemaking. Uhlbach is an address of worship for all lovers of good wines. In ancient winepress of the commune, built in 1907, in operation since 1979, this museum tells the story of over 700 years of winemaking tradition of the region. Some of the objects in the collection are from the Roman era, there is also an interesting collection of corkscrews and various utensils of all ages. Open April to October on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Bibelhaus: Gropiusplatz 10. Bible House and Bibelmuseum (Bible Museum). Bibles dating from the Middle Ages, the first steps of printing and the Reformation of Luther Bible to electronic versions of last generation. The most read book in the world in a permanent exhibition. Open Monday to Friday.
Porschemuseum: Porscheplatz 1 D – 70435 Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The lovers of the brand and the history of motorsports visit this museum permanently located on the Porsche factory in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. Many of the cars on display are the legendary and other constantly changing. On one side of the museum you can see the cars fresh from the factory ready for delivery. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 to 18. Entrance adults 8 & euro & euro children 4.
