Saudi cuisine


Food in Saudi Arabia Before anything else we should know that the import and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited by law from the Koran. They drink fruit juices and water. The tea is scented with different herbs, drink all day and is delicious, also drinks coffee. The “Saudi champagne” is an apple juice with sparkling mineral water.

In large cities we find the whole range of international cuisine restaurants and hotels. The cafes are gradually displaced by fast food chains.

The main meal is at midday and the base of it is lamb, spices and vegetables such as eggplant, onions, cucumbers … bittersweet salad (vegetables and fruits fresh and dried seasoned with yogurt and lemon) soups and desserts are very sweet and perfumed.


Kebabs: beef and lamb, rice, egg, tomatoes, onions and spices.

Hummus: hummus, garlic and lemon.

Pita: typical Arabic bread

Tabulate: couscous, onions, peppers, cucumbers, garlic, olive oil and lemon Shikamba: lamb meatballs soup very creamy

Kofta: ground beef, rice, spinach, tomatoes, onions.

In the port city of Jeddah are consumed delicious fish and seafood, great restaurants are located on the coastal road.
