The capital lies at the confluence of the Blue and White Nile. With the former capital of Omdurman and Khartoum North, it forms a unit, the tri-city capital is called. Among the attractions are the Omdurman camel market and the Arab souk (market). In the lobbies of major hotels and several shops in the city center there are Sudanese souvenirs.
Of particular historical and artistic interest, the National Museum, the archaeological pieces are exhibited. A visit to the museum in Khalifenhaus is of interest to travelers who are interested in the history of Sudan.

The north and east
The most interesting archaeological sites are located north of Khartoum on the Nile, including Bajrawiya, Naga, Musawarat, El Kurru, Nuri and Meroe.
The Dinder National Park covers 6475 square kilometers and is located on the Ethiopian border, southeast of Khartoum. He is one of the largest parks in the world and is home to many wild animal species. In high season (December – April) from Khartoum are organized three-day trips.
One of the main attractions of the Sudan, the Red Sea, is characterized by clear waters and magnificent coral reefs and underwater parks. The busy Port Sudan, Suakin, famous during the Ottoman period a large role, and the Arous Tourist Village (50 km north of Port Sudan) are just three of the many interesting places. Erkowit, 1200 m above sea level. FSO located, is a resort that is known for its evergreen vegetation.
The West
The Jebel Marra (3088 m) is the highest mountain in the Darfur region of western Sudan. This scenic area with waterfalls, volcanic lakes and a pleasant climate, is a popular vacation area.
The South
In this part of the country currently torn by civil war; trips to the south are not currently possible. The holiday complex in the heart of Gemmeiza Eastern Equatoria is because of their animal wealth of special interest.
