Dakar is a bustling port city with restaurants, shops and a varied nightlife. The Gore-island, a former slave market mounted, can be reached by ferry. Here you can visit the Historical Museum and pay a visit to the zoo. The IFAN museum contains a large collection of West African masks and musical instruments. The Sandaga and the Kermelmarkt offer for every taste and budget. Even the old city of Dakar is worth a visit. The Ngor-beach on the island is a beautiful destination.

Saint-Louis also founded by the French at the time of the slave trade and was once the capital of Senegal.
