Atlanta is a bustling industrial city of over 4 million inhabitants. Here took place, a dramatic change from the old to the new style of the South. Underground Atlanta is a restored, four blocks wide area near the business center of Atlanta. The Grant Park includes the Atlanta Zoo, the restored Konfoderierten fort Walker and the Cyclorama, a famous, 123-meter long painting of the Battle of Atlanta. Piedmont Park you can swim and play tennis and golf.
Entertainment:
Located 24 km east of the business district of Atlanta, Stone Mountain. Here, figures of three Confederate heroes Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis and Stonewall Jackson were carved from the rock. Not far from Atlanta is Augusta, home of the Masters Golf Tournament (April). In the former mining town of Dahlone ga, visitors can pan for gold. The historic Madison survived the Civil War unscathed. The nearby Pine Mountain region is the Callaway Gardens and President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Little White House at Warm Springs is known for.
Savannah
Savannah , 400 km southeast of Atlanta Located on the Atlantic coast, is the first city in the U.S., which was on the drawing board. It is now largely a historical monument. From the original beauty of Savannah retains much. There are many historically significant buildings, such as the Owens Thomas House in Regency-style and the Davenport House, one of the best examples of English architecture of the 18th Century in the New World. Fort Pulaski, one of five forts of the city shall be open to the public. It was named after the Polish hero of the American Revolutionary War. Savannah Beach has beautiful sandy beaches, lake shores, fishing pier and an amusement park.
Entertainment
The Golden Isles, south of the city, are famous for their resorts with beautiful white sand beaches and golf, tennis and fishing. St. Simons is the largest island with vast forests and marshes and the original coastline. Waycross is one of three starting points to the Okefenokee Swamp, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas of the country. The swamp is home to exotic plant and animal has an active life, there is even alligators.
