During Christmas and New Year carnival week (February / March) and Easter week, some beaches on the coast are so full they are best avoided. For example: Atacames, Salinas, Playas, Crucita or Jambeli. The main streets with heavy traffic and must be handled more carefully.
Banks, businesses and public institutions are closed on holidays and also on regional independence (Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca) are also held throughout the country.
