The valleys that crosses the river Ebro in the community of Aragon produce excellent vegetables, appreciated throughout the state. These fertile lands are abundant in excellent lettuce, tasty tomatoes, sweet onions (such as the Source of the Ebro), borage of Zaragoza, thistles and many other varieties of exceptional freshness and flavor. Accompany these wonderful vegetables in fruit crops as well known and appreciated as the Peach Calanda (Denomination of Origin) or of Canapiel also not forget that the olive groves of Aragon provide an oil production of excellent quality and Designation of Origin. This liquid gold is considered one of the world’s best, also set out the olives used to make olive, black olive pate, a delicacy all its own and characteristic of the region. 

Many of these vegetables and ingredients are part of the traditional dishes of the region, which is seasoned with excellent meat and game products in the area. For example, the tasty crumbs pastor, the Rev. meat, chicken with pepper sauce or fricassee, lamb … Do not forget that we are in the land of exceptional quality meats such as lamb of Aragon, with specific name. The sausages also have their role in the tables Aragon, being especially delicious black pudding of rice, sausages and sausages. Argon community, such as inner region is less emphasis on fish dishes, but we must say that this land is preparing a delicious cod or baturra ajoarriero and river species such as trout exquisite Teruel or frog legs.

Cheese and wine are part of the gastronomic scale development of these lands. Different regions provide delicious cheeses, such as the popular Cheese Tronchón, sheep’s milk. Alcañiz find other varieties, as well as the Pyrenees (Biescas, Anso, Gistain, Benasque) and Calanda area. As for wine production, in Aragon there are four designations of origin: excellent wines from Somontano and Carignan, and the lesser known but equally significant wines from Campo de Borja and Calatayud. And to conclude this review of gourmet Aragon, we can only quote the great bakery in the area, where the fruits of Aragon, the Russian cake, the “chestnuts” of marzipan and chocolate Huesca, Jaca ties or brittle only the tip of the iceberg of an extensive and delicious confectionery tradition.
