Easter is perhaps the most important holiday season of Aragon, especially as regards the Aragon. It is time to Drum Road, famous throughout the country and has been held for more than four years. It is an ancient tradition that is spread over nine locations, and in which the drums warn and lament the death of Christ. The “breaking of the hour” is the first touch, which takes place on Friday in Calanda, and on Holy Thursday in the rest of the people. This festival is very spiritual and moving, and has been declared National Tourist Interest.

Besides the drums, in different provinces of Aragon different holidays are celebrated, whose profusion makes no respite holiday calendar and strangers. Zaragoza began the year with a profusion of flowers, paying homage to the rebirth of the fields with their Spring Festival, held in May, this event is graced by a major art exhibition at the national level. Other important celebrations are the Corpus Christi Daroca and the different gastronomic festivals like the Olive Festival in Caspe, the Fruit of the Harvest Calatayud and, of course, in Carignan.

Although the most important festival is the Fiesta del Pilar, which take place the week of Oct. 12 in the capital, Zaragoza, and where it is possible to contemplate all sorts of traditions associated with the folklore of the region, and enjoy of festivals, concerts, street entertainment and religious events. And in the capital and the province also find commemorative events of the times of the Reconquista, the classic battles of Moors and Christians, with their performances, parades and dances.

Teruel going to land in this province calendar begins in February with the conclusion of a very popular and known to respond to the curious name of the wedding of Isabel Segura. In the old town of Teruel reproduces the atmosphere of the medieval town, depicting the history of the Lovers of Teruel. In mid-July Festivities take place Angel or “The Heifer”, reflecting a burst of animation and joy in the city. Are holidays that revolve around the figure of the bull, for its part, the ham is the star of the festivities related to this product, they see the light in September, which coincide with the Feria del Jamón de Teruel, held in the Exhibition and Congress. In the summer Teruel is also visited by culture, since in the capital celebrates the International Folklore Show in August and September, hosting bands from all over the world.

Going up and to the lands of Huesca, in the capital the most important festivals focus mainly on two dates: the “small parties” and “festivals.” The first takes place early this year, specifically, on January 22, the feast of San Vicente. The bonfires are lit everywhere and the audience tasted the traditional “potatoes.” The main festivities, meanwhile, are held in honor of the city’s patron saint, San Lorenzo. The beautiful city of Huesca is dressed in white and green for a week, from 9 to 15 August, visitors and locals on the streets enjoying the sunshine, warm temperatures and the party. Events such as dances and offerings of fruit and flowers have made these parties are classified as tourist interest, like Easter Huesca. Besides these two festive days, on 23 April is the feast of St. George. Besides being the Day of Aragon in Huesca designed a pilgrimage to the shrine located on the hill that bears the name of the saint.
